As a corporate legal counsel you will provide legal analysis and advice on various activities and legal topics as they relate to Oikocredit international. One of your main responsibilities will be to safeguard the legality of operations and status of the various Oikocredit offices and foundations around the world, including taking the steps required to comply with legal requirements. You will also give advice on service agreements, cooperation agreements, technical assistance agreements, intellectual property agreements, HR agreements, etc. In addition, you will draft rules and policies for Oikocredit in the Netherlands and worldwide, as well as train internal and external staff to improve legal procedures and documentation.
The corporate legal counsel is part of the legal affairs team and reports to the general counsel, whom he/she assists in projects and ongoing advice related to Oikocredit and its foundations. The corporate legal counsel also works with other legal counsels on international debt contracts when the workload so requires.
Qualifications and other requirements
Oikocredit is looking for someone with a master’s degree in law with a specialization in corporate law and knowledge of Dutch regulatory law and international commercial law. A minimum of three years’ experience in an international environment in a similar position or law firm is required. Experience in common law is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and good knowledge of Dutch are essential to be successful in this position. You must also be able to work independently and have a strong sense of responsibility.
